Our Story

Happy Feet(s) began with a simple yet powerful moment that changed everything for me. While visiting a lodge in South Africa, I met Aby, a local employee who shared something that stopped me in my tracks. She had saved up 40€ to send her son, Ethin, to school. For Aby, this small amount was everything—it could cover an entire month of school fees, something that many families in the area can’t afford.

In that moment, I realized how much impact even a small contribution could have. 40€ might seem insignificant to us, but in this community, it was a lifeline. It opened my eyes to the many struggles families face every day—struggles that we often overlook or take for granted.

Together with my son Mika, I knew we couldn’t just stand by. We saw the need for better access to education, daycare, and opportunities for the children. And we knew we had to act. My goal was clear: to give these kids the chance for a brighter future, step by step.

It hasn’t always been easy, but every day I’m inspired by the smiles and laughter of the children we support. The changes we’re making—though small—are already having a real impact. When we come together, we can change lives.
